If you need a lawyer

The British High Commission publishes a list of lawyers who are able to give advice in English to British nationals for the convenience of enquirers. The lists for the north and the south can be downloaded from this website.  Alternatively, you can obtain them by telephoning +357 22 861123 and leaving your contact details or by sending an email to nicosia.consular@fco.gov.uk with the works “lawyers north” or “lawyers south” as appropriate in the subject line.

The list includes a number of lawyers in each town on the island to give some freedom of choice, but not so many that the enquirer has difficulty in choosing a practitioner. The High Commission never recommends a particular lawyer in order to maintain complete impartiality and provides the lists for the convenience of enquirers. However, neither HMG nor any official of the High Commission takes any responsibility for the competency or probity of any firm/advocate on the list or for the consequence of any legal action or for any legal fees and expenses.
