Interested in a taste of Britain? (24/09/2009)

The British High Commissioner in Cyprus Peter Millet welcomed another opportunity for cooperation between UK and Cyprus, this time a very “tasty” one. Speaking at the opening of the “Taste of Britain” exhibition he said that, while Britons living in Cyprus enjoyed the high quality of the island's cuisine, this was an opportunity for Cypriots to sample the best of British food and beverage.

The goods presented food on offer would not only appeal to ex-pats, he said, but to the many Cypriots who through their close connections with the UK had developed a taste for traditional British but also international food and drink.

The event organised by the Trade & Investment Section of the British High Commission is hosting a British delegation of 17 companies from the food and beverage sector, carefully selected for the quality and the range of their products.

The two-day event showcases the diverse quality of British food and drink and is an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration between the Cypriot and UK business communities. On the first day of the event food experts, importers and distributors as well as some of the island’s largest retailers viewed and sampled the products.

The event, open to the Cypriot business community 23 & 24 September 2009 is taking place at the High Commissioner's Residence.
